Time Warner Cable News currently seeks a experienced Animation/Graphic Designer. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position
Summary of Role: This role will be responsible for visually conveying the Networks message through the use of special effects, animation, or other visual images using video, computers, or other electronic tools and media. The on-air designer/animator will be responsible for all facets of design & production for a live, sports television network. The designer/animator should be capable of taking projects through the phases of concept, design, production and delivery. Additionally, the on-air designer/animator will serve many clients which include promos, live remote, live studio, programming and sales/marketing initiatives. Finally, the role will also require occasional print or web project.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conceptualize, design, develop, execute and animate high-end design projects that are integrated into multiple shows and live television graphics.
- Work collaboratively with graphics producers, art directors and creative directors.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-project managing skills required.
- Good Communication skills a must.
- Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos and internet websites.
- Create two- and three-dimensional images depicting objects in motion or illustrating a process, using computer animation or modeling programs.
Position Requirements:
Operations (Tactical Responsibilities)
- Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with leaders and making necessary changes.
- Maintains and archive/catalog of images, photos or previous work products.
- Script, plan and create animated narrative sequences under tight deadlines, using computer software and hand drawing techniques.
- Deep understanding of the principles and methods for promoting and selling services.
Knowledge & Experience (Technical Responsibilities)
- Fluent in Adobe CS and C4d
- 4 to 6 years previous work experience in a fast paced, motion graphics studio or network.
- Complete understanding of the implementation of design elements in network television and live environments a must
- Strong concept and storyboard design skills
- Strong design sense, strong typography
- Experience with Apple MacPro and Internal Render Farm
- Experience with computer aided design software such as After Effect CS5+ to include multiple plug-ins, Real Smart Motion Blur from ReVision, Optical Flares
- Hands-on video creation and editing experience utilizing Mograph, Advanced Render, Body Paint 3D, Hair/Fur, Think Particles, Sketch, Mocca.
- Careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
- Creative and alternative thinking to develop new ideas.
- Ability to accept feedback and work effectively in a high stress environment.
- Strong understanding of the organization ' s goals and objectives.
Formal Education & Certification
- College diploma or university degree in the field of Graphic Art and/or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of Animation/Graphic Designer experience in sports production preferred.

- No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.
