The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Senior Technology Engineer for our Cloud Infrastructure Operations Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
This position is for a Senior Technology Engineer within TWC ' s Cloud Infrastructure Operations VMware Cloud group. This group is responsible for the design and engineering of all Compute Platforms, Storage Area Networks, Automated Server Installations, vSphere architecture, and Cloud management platforms for all VMware Cloud Initiatives.

Candidate will operate as a member of a specialized development oriented Engineering team. Should be able to share responsibility for project development with other engineers, act independently when developing small scope projects, and work as part of a small team when requirements dictate more complex solutions. Candidate must be comfortable sharing ideas, discussing solutions, and receiving feedback throughout the entire product development process.

Applicant will be responsible for keeping up to date with emerging technologies and crafting immediate and long term Server Virtualization and Compute roadmap. Conduct product evaluations, test new potential solutions, and report on results. Candidate will Support other teams across the enterprise when specific development oriented assistance is requested.

Contribute to project planning, architecture specification, and implementation planning for application development tasks. Determine accurate level of effort and timeframe for project completion. Successful candidates will be responsible for the development of all documentation required to implement their designs, including testing, deployment, and operations, including authoring of functional specifications, design documentation, installation, and operations guides.

Conduct product evaluations, test new potential solutions, and report on results.

Job Requirements:
Successful candidate must possess the following:
-Expert level experience with VMware vSphere suite including ESXi, vCenter, and Update Manager 4.1 and 5.x.
-Extensive experience with VMware including performance tuning, task automation, and capacity planning
-Extensive experience with VMware networking including basic and distributed switches
-Extensive experience with VMware storage concepts including concepts of datastores, datastore clusters, and Storage DRS

Successful candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and strong collaboration skills.The candidate must be a team player, with an inherent ability to work well under tight timelines, and have strong problem-solving capabilities. Candidate will also be required to share experience, skill, and talents with associates and mentor others.

The successful candidate must be willing to work in an entrepreneurial environment requiring broad experience, adaptability, and excellent problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with some or all of the following skills and experience are preferred:
-Experience with VMware vCenter Operations, Site Recovery Manager, and Orchestrator
-Experience with VMware vCloud Suite including vCloud Director and vCloud Networking and Security
-Experience developing tools that automate vSphere activities via the vSphere API.
-Experience with virtual machine provisioning, configuration, and management automation via Red Hat CloudForms, VMware Cloud Automation Center, or vCenter Orchestrator.
-Experience automating vSphere activities via PowerShell or vSphere CLI.
-Experience writing scripts or application that leverage the vSphere API to automate vSphere tasks.
-Expert level experience of UNIX/Linux operating systems and Server Virtualization, including their tuning and configuration, their automated installation, and extended configuration.
-Experience with automated server deployment and configuration management tools I.E. Puppet, Chef, Kickstart.
-A thorough understanding of various network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP/S, PXE, DHCP, DHCPv6, DNS, LDAP) and how each of these protocols communicates.
-Understanding of IP networking technologies with specific knowledge of network addressing, routing, IP filtering, network based load balancing, etc. IPv6 experience a plus.
-Shell Scripting Experience

Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.

Travel Requirements:
Travel 5% or less
