POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sound & Lighting Technician works alongside artists, DJ, and hosts to successfully plan, prepare, oversee, and execute all venue production as well as create new and innovative production and show concepts for the venue.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

- Good working knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment

- Commitment to the safety of fellow co-workers and our guests, and the ability to demonstrate that commitment through daily actions.

- Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as Company and/or departmental policies/procedures

- Informs and turn in written reports nightly to GM of any irregularities, guest complaints, injuries, or other disputes that transpired during the night

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

- Liaison with venue management, talent, and artist reps to create custom shows integrating lighting/video/special effects and performances

- Overseeing all production in the venue with direction from Director and GM

- Ensure proper execution of nightly shows to include lighting, sound, and video

- Ensure all temperatures in venue are at Park Avenue standards

- Ensure marketing themes are incorporated in all video production

- Exhibit excellent follow up skills

- Utilize effective time management skills

- Ensure that all private events and functions are properly executed

- Ensure all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following Park Avenue preventative maintenance standards

- Ensure nightly and/or weekly, opening and closing side duties are followed

- Adhere to all Park Avenue’s Standard Operating Procedures

 

RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL MANGEMENT

- Recognize and acknowledge when guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated

- Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive guests and promptly bring to security and a Manager’s attention

- Comply with all company alcohol awareness and safety policies/procedures

- Comply with all state liquor laws

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/TEAMWORK/DEPARTMENT

- Conduct pre-shift walk throughs of the entire venue to ensure all sound, lighting and video elements are on and working properly

- Conduct walkthroughs of entire venue every thirty (30) minutes to again insure all sound, lighting, and video elements are at correct levels and working properly.

- Follow Park Avenue set procedures for lighting schedule through the night

- Follow all opening and closing duties as well as nightly/weekly duties provided by Director and GM

- Maintain a clean and organized booth at all times

- Related duties as assigned based on extensive experience working in an entertainment venue

- Assist all other team members as needed

- Create and maintain a sense of urgency

- Performs other job related duties as assigned

- Responsible for loading and unloading miscellaneous equipment, such cables, speakers, TV’s, lighting equipment, confetti machines, CO2, fog machines, computers, etc.

- Responsible to ensure all stocking is complete, par forms are filled out, and any shortages of stock is reported

- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering Park Avenue standards

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

- High School Diploma required or equivalent

- 21+ years of age

- Proof of eligibility to work in the United Stated

- Possession of/or ability to possess a valid TABC certificate

WORKING KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

- Proficient in Windows office,

- Ability to learn lighting and video software
