Positions in this function generate forecasts and analyze trends in sales, SG&A, provider performance, product line profitability, membership, medical costs, premium yields, and other areas of business. Researches economic progressions to assist with the organization's financial planning. Presents findings and recommendations to management. May include responsibility for budget planning and analysis.

- Understand the UnitedHealth Group financial process and become an active participant in the management of its financials.
- Analyze and report on financials and partner with senior leaders to collaboratively manage budgets.
- Assist with periodic forecast and budget creation for business leadership.
- Forecast staffing needs and partner with project managers, subject matter experts and leadership to develop workforce tools -experience with Activity-Based costing a plus.
- Collaborate with segment finance to understand and demonstrate complex concepts in ways that lead to understanding by a variety of audiences.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis, calculate cost impact, summarize and present to a larger audience.
- Position supports the Claims Transactions Operations team within the Optum Shared Services organization.
- Reviews the work of others.
- Develops innovative approaches.
- Sought out as expert.
- Serves as a leader/ mentor.
Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years Previous experience in a finance role supporting business operations
- 2+ years Previous experience performing financial analysis and budget reviews
- Previous experience utilizing MS Excel to develop pivot tables, formulas, finance functions, and ability to utilize or create macros and v-lookups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Previous experience working within MS Access to retrieve data and reports
