Job Summary
The Warehouse Operations Material Handler is responsible for moving material to and from the processors as needed.
Job Qualifications
- Forklift experience required.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Good organizational skills preferred.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written communications.
- Quality on number/alpha equivalency test must meet overall standard of 95%.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Capable of lifting up to 51 pounds.
- Must have capability of being on or off feet all day: standing or walking or sitting or driving, if necessary.
- Frequent bending squatting, lifting and reaching may be necessary.
- Ability to adapt/tolerate varying weather conditions may be necessary. Some outside work may be required.
- Must be able to work overtime when needed.
- Some computer knowledge preferred.
- Frequent climbing.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Move material as necessary as directed by Supervisor or Lead Person.
- Assist processors when needed.
- Visually check processed skids for fullness.
- Load/unload trucks as required.
- Report the supply status of material (i.e. Skids, Inside Crates, Boxes) to Processing Supervisor.
- Be prepared to work in unheated warehouse or outside in varied weather conditions.
- Work within the guidelines of established department Work Instructions.
- Assist in making recommendations for improving efficiency and/or the effectiveness of work instructions that would benefit the company and its employees.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations as outlined in the Vintage Parts, Inc. Employee Handbook.
- Assist in training new employees if necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness in all work areas.
- Attend departmental meetings when required.
- Fill out Daily Job Cards.
- Work in other areas as assigned by Supervisor.
