ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
The primary responsibility of the Route Planning Associate is organizing daily delivery orders into efficiently planned routes for our home delivery network across the company. They are also responsible to complete the routing quickly while following company policies and procedures in regards to route assignment and order restrictions. The Route Planning Associate is also responsible for communication with manufacturer representatives and truck carriers to schedule incoming shipments to the distribution center.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities of the Route Planning Associate are essential in the daily execution of the position:
•Maintain daily delivery orders and resources using a computer routing system.
•Implement routing strategies and perform routing assignments for next day orders.
•Communicating with delivery locations and 3rd party carriers if there are service order issues or shortage of resources are discovered.
•Ensure routing is creating the most efficient and lowest mileage alternatives for that location's service orders and resources that are available.
•Using logic and reasoning to determining best solutions to routing challenges and obstacles.
•Verifying purchase orders to the correct distribution center when an appointment is requested for inbound loads and stock replenishment.
•Daily communication with buyers and vendors in regards to arrival of product and making sure product is scheduled within our receiving guidelines.
•Responsible for following all procedures around our facility gate operating system.
•Collect bill of ladings from carriers and directing inbound load and stock replenishment trucks to the correct receiving dock.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Critical skills for the successful Route Planning Associate:
•High school education (or equivalent)
•Flexible schedule, able to work 1st or 2nd shift, weekends and holidays.
•Understand geography and use of mapping for navigation.
•Knowledge of home delivery processes, basic logistics and supply chain flows.
•Solid understanding of h.h.gregg internal systems (POS and HP systems) is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
