Strategies that the Corporate Strategy team supports encompass both enhancements inside the core business, as well as investigation of new potential revenue and profit streams.
Core business strategies include
- supporting major new client selling efforts
- assessing new/differentiated go to market models
- developing enhanced core business capabilities (e.g. tools, processes, analytics)
- investigating cost efficiency measures
- evolving overall company strategy
New revenue areas include
- new channel strategies
- new geographies (international)
- new product/business models to penetrate new clients and client markets
- alliances and partnerships to develop new offerings
- mergers and acquisitions
The Corporate Strategy team, and this position, is charged with developing and supporting the medium and long term growth strategies for the company. The pace of change is increasing around data and technology, shopper behaviors and the ultimate purchase decision, store formats, branding and brand equity, as well as intense pressure on various portions of the industry cost structures. Acosta is the leading food sales agency and must continue to enhance and evolve its business model and service offerings. The Corporate Strategy team is paramount to the continued long term growth objectives and industry leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic business consulting with clients in project teams and work through all stages of strategy-based transformation projects.
- Consult with clients to identify, clarify, and resolve complex issues critical to clients’ strategic and operating success by developing insight, conducting independent analysis, and meeting with clients to assure assignment progress.
- Develop conclusions and recommendations, write reports, assist in client presentations and provide implementation assistance as required.
- Construct the analytical framework and work steps for each assignment.
- Conducts fact based research – organizes and analyzes data from available resources to provide facts/data to support and substantiate desired actions or hypotheses.
- Create and communicate presentations of analysis to support strategic development.
- Communicate with Acosta Strategy and internal stakeholder clients on status of projects.
- Support core business functions for important initiatives – operations, business development, marketing.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of relevant experience performing statistical analysis, business analysis and/or modeling, simulation and optimization
- Minimum 1 year experience working with a top tier strategy consulting firm preferred.
- Practical experience in one or more of the following:
- Strategy or strategic planning
Strategic project leadership
Organizational restructuring/transformation
Finance or business operations
Business development, marketing, or sales
Advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to gather, analyze and model business and market data.
Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
Ability to independently own and drive model development, balancing demands and deadlines
Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate analytical and technical content
in an easy to understand wayStrong people skills, team-orientation, and a professional attitude
Strong multi-tasking abilities, flexibility, and patience in a fluid environment
Strong presentations skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced degree preferred (MS, MA) in a quantitative discipline (typically statistics, mathematics, econometrics, economics, computer science, sociology, etc.)
