Overview:

The VP, National Retail Operations - RBMs is responsible for the coordination and development of the Retail Sales and Merchandising organization for dedicated client teams. The incumbent must be able to lead, manage and coach activities of Retail Business Managers (approximately 10 team members), and also work strategically with Region Retail VPs, Retail Sales Managers, Unit Managers, and RCM’s to ensure the sales and merchandising objectives of the company and clients are achieved. On-going interaction with key Clients is required to coordinate goals and initiatives meeting or exceeding all Client objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing at least one large client relationship as their retail business manager, including managing the relationship, ensuring retail execution objectives are met, seeking opportunities for improvement, and participating in top-to-top reviews with the client
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching and development to Retail Business Managers in the management of retail store coverage, set coverage, or coverage of special projects, and executing objectives as set forth by the client, Business Manager, or the Sales Manager to achieve superior in-store results Work in conjunction with National Client Development Directors/VPs assigned to key Clients directing objectives and initiatives requiring special focus and analysis
  • Develop and maintain consistent communication and rapport with all clients and customers to address opportunities and expectations
  • Monitor progress and provide performance data and analysis using Acosta proprietary systems. Identify key areas of opportunity
  • Create and set strategy for retail operations organization, i.e. Content Locker deployment; NARS objective submission/review/deployment process
  • Provide continuous coaching/feedback, and perform mid-year and year end evaluations for Retail Business Managers.
  • Participate as a key member in client interviews, RFPs, and top-to-top meetings
  • Design go to market retail support structure when onboarding new clients, including determining resource needs/locations/skill set
  • Effectively navigate in a matrix organization to achieve client objectives, as well as source top talent to build retail bench strength
  • Provide leadership support through ad hoc projects as assigned by EVP, Retail Operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of consumer packaged goods experience, including essential account management.
  • Sales, Marketing, Merchandising and Administration experience required.
  • Strong technical skills, including MS Office Suite, advanced PowerPoint & Excel, as well as strong knowledge of Acosta’s internal systems
  • Good office management and time management skills.
  • Ability to exercise influence over people.
  • Be able to prioritize multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including ability to conduct presentations.
  • Proven analytical ability with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a P& L.
  • Assertive, decisive, creative, team player and with proven sense of urgency.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to delegate.
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Ability to travel when required
