Description

DISH's Equipment Remanufacturing team ensures the high quality condition of millions of satellite receivers and remote controls. State-of-the-art facilities in El Paso, TX, Spartanburg, SC, and Englewood, CO, use advanced diagnostic tools and automated equipment to test, refurbish and redistribute hardware to customers.

The Truck Driver drives diesel tractor and trailers in the local area and performs material handler duties at DISH Network warehouse as necessary.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
  • 5 year related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft windows and other applications preferred.
  • Capable of meeting Texas DOT requirements in order to maintain CDL qualifications
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Capable of performing the all driver related functions and meet specifications of the Texas Department of Transportation (Must be CDL 'A' certified).
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, licenses, registrations
  • CDL 'A' qualified drivers license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must have the ability to lift 25 lbs., sit for long periods of time or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack and/or forklift loaded with receivers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The truck driver typically works on local roads or in warehouse environments and maybe subject to inclement driving conditions.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Responsibilities
  • Drives diesel tractor and trailers in DISH yard and local vendor locations. Trucks are usually 9 speed and the trailers are usually 48 to 53 feet in length.
  • Assists with loading and unloading when needed.
  • Performs Material Handler I & II duties during the course of a work-shift when required.
  • Performs the shipping and receiving functions during the course of a work-shift when required.
  • Operates all associated material handling equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Maintains knowledge of and understands the maintenance and safety standards associated with tractor- trailer operations in accordance with Texas DOT requirements.
