Carpenter / Electrician - Macy's Parade Studio (Seasonal)

Essential Functions:

• Works as a carpenter, welder, fabricator on floats and other studio projects
• Acts as a crewmember on installations, set ups and take downs.
• Wires and maintains sound, electrical and animation systems for floats and other Studio projects.
• Maintains overall organization and inventory for the Electrics shop and Animation areas.
• Oversees installation and implementation of special effects such as confetti cannons for Parade and water effects for Flower Show.
• Collaborates with design studio manager and the production manager on methods of project engineering and planning.
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by director of production and/or production manager

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

• Must be fully skilled and experienced in carpentry, welding/metal fabrication and general rigging
• Must have a working knowledge of basic electricity
• Knowledge or experience in plumbing and hydraulics a plus
• Must be able to read scale drawings and basic schematics
• Must be able to perform cabinet level finish work on all projects
• Must be self directed, able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be flexible to the needs of the business
