Advisory Systems Engineer
Infrastructure Services – Converged Infrastructure Services (CIS)
The CIS team operates Manheim’s converged infrastructure platform utilized by delivery teams to build, test, and operate software on. This team manages the entire infrastructure unified compute platform, centralized storage, and core network connectivity. The CIS team is responsible for implementing and managing the automation tools to allow rapid infrastructure provisioning. The tools and use-cases are diverse, and our challenge is to increase the development velocity by optimizing various parts of the pipeline while ensuring stability of the production environments through automation and standardization. We are looking for an advisory level infrastructure engineer, who is strategy oriented, capable of defining short and long term team goals, creating and aligning infrastructure roadmaps with business direction and capability needs while meeting operational support requirements.

What you will do:
- Design, implement, and improve our converged infrastructure environment (on premise platform as a service, infrastructure as a service, etc…)
- Establish and document standards around converged infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Network platforms/solutions)
-Create and document conceptual/logical/physical/virtual designs for on premise converged infrastructure
- Development/Implementation of automated build, deployment and support tools
- Work with support oriented engineers to ensure your design is operationalized
- Bake in all operational elements to support infrastructure hosting continuous delivery of applications.
The skills we require:
-Experienced in virtualization platforms (VMware)
-Experience configuring and supporting storage systems (NetApp, EMC)
-Experience configuring and supporting server systems (Cisco UCS, Dell)
-Experience configuring and supporting converged infrastructure systems (NetApp Flexpod, VCE vBlock, Nutanix)
-Experience with configuration management and deployment systems (Cisco UCSD, VMware vCAC)
-Experience with converged infrastructure capacity management tools (NetApp OCI, VMware VCOPS) and processes
-Linux/Windows system administration expertise
-Networking knowledge, core routing and switching (Cisco)
-Excellent written communication, problem solving, and process management skills
Desire to work in a fast paced, evolving, growing, dynamic environment
The skills we prefer:
-Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. VMware, Cisco, EMC, OpenStack, AWS, and Microsoft)
-Experience with agile development, continuous integration and automated testing
