As a Senior Provider Relations Advocate, you will be responsible for the full range of provider relations and service interactions between UnitedHealth Group and assigned providers. Your duties include problem resolution, including claim issues, and  provider education. You will also design and implement programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan and providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers. Responsibilities also include working with network development to ensure adequate network composition and services. This role is part of the Community and State business segment, and so is also responsible for working with New Mexico State Medicaid to answer questions, provide service and respond to action requests.

In this role you will be expected to:
- Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements.
- Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems.
- Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks.
- Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues.
- Act as a resource for others with less experience.


 

Requirements

Requirements:


- 3+ years of provider relations and/or provider network experience


- 3+ years experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations


- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel


 


Assets:


- Experience with Medicaid program for New Mexico
- Intermediate level of proficiency in claims issue resolution
- Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills


- Experience with writing correspondence to internal and external audiences
- Ability to work independently and remain on task
- Good organization and planning skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines from multi-staff members within the department.


- Undergraduate or higher level degree
