The Analytics Consultant will work with senior consultants and client management/services to develop, execute, and deliver a wide range of analyses including program needs and opportunities assessments and program evaluations with recommendations for controlling costs, improving quality of care and reducing population risk. The Analytic Consultant will present analyses to clients as well as design and support clients' analytic/measurement and evaluation agenda.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Contribute to building client relationships to achieve high client satisfaction,  and team revenue growth and profitability goals

  • Demonstrate consulting and analytic capabilities and strengths to clients and internal client services team maintaining collateral and answering technical questions regarding analytic best practices

  • Stay current on account managements' client business plans

  • Work with analytics and client management team to interpret client needs and align needs with Optum's capabilities; this may involve participating on client calls to help initiate and win opportunities

  • Help client teams mine client data to identify client needs

  • Develop study outlines and proposals working with the broad Optum team on consistent analytic approach and methodologies ensuring they align with best practices, are relevant and meet clients' needs

  • Help identify and define special processes and resources required for project work and provide input on work effort and pricing

  • Work with team to develop feasible and efficient project plans and necessary documentation

  • Work with team to obtain client project approvals participating in presenting proposals to clients and refining as necessary to help win opportunities

  • Complete data work necessary to transform system generated data to information needed for presentations, analyze and interpret findings assuring consistency in data and make suggestions for drilldown analysis

  • Build report exhibits, add findings to body of presentations and develop executive summaries

  • Peer review client presentations ensuring they align with proposals, deliver value and actionable recommendations that align with clients strategy and views

  • Work with team to deliver presentations to clients

  • Work with team to deliver periodic topical communications to clients

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of project support, data analysis or client facing support

  • 3-5 years healthcare experience

  • Strong analytical talent, competence in Excel

  • Competency in creating and delivering PowerPoint presentations

  • Excellent interpersonal skills (including relationship management)

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • Project management skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to analyze, and explain clinical and operational performance data

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Post graduate degree

  • Competence in Access
