POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Bartender markets the venue and is responsible for exceptional customer service to our customer base. The Marketing Bartender follows all specific marketing requirements and guidelines. Performs in a public relations capacity when promoting Park Avenue. The Marketing Bartender is responsible for beverage service in a high volume restaurant, bar, nightclub, or lounge environment. Maintains all assigned wardrobe/costumes in accordance with established standards and uniform guidelines. Requests identification and payment from customers in a professional manner. Works in an efficient and professional manner while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest service at all times. Performs other duties as requested.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

GUEST SERVICE/COMMUNICATION

  • Greet all guests promptly, with a friendly and upbeat attitude
  • Entertain and engage the guests
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner
  • Anticipate guest needs
  • Responds to guest concerns/complaints regarding service or beverage and corrects errors or resolves complaints with a positive attitude
  • Adhere to all Park Avenue’s Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain all Park Avenue’s Sequence of Service Standards
  • Be a brand advocate by providing guests with accurate information to guests regarding our venue, menu, and pricing
  • Recognize and cultivate regular guests and repeat business
  • Report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests and co-workers
  • Provide customers with information and directions
  • Promptly inform management of any complaint, comments, or incidents

RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL MANGEMENT

  • Recognize and acknowledge when guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated
  • Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive guests and promptly bring to a Manager’s attention
  • Refuse further service of alcohol to intoxicated guests in a courteous and safety-minded manner
  • Responsible for checking the identification of customers in question and following all other responsible vending guidelines
  • Comply with all safety and health procedures as well as Company and/or department policies/procedures
  • Comply with all state liquor laws

PROMPT, CORRECT, AND COMPLETE BEVERAGE SERVICE

  • Organize and prioritize service per appropriate service sequence
  • Take orders from guests at the bar and immediately ring in orders through POS terminal
  • Prepare beverages and garnish all beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications
  • Double check beverage orders prior to serving to ensure that they are correct, properly presented, and that special requests have been met
  • Deliver beverage orders promptly and completely
  • Fullfill all service bar duties
  • Always follow given drink recipes when dispensing drinks unless special requests are made by the guest
  • Ensure daily/nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed
  • Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to a Manager immediately
  • Ensure that all station and surrounding areas are set correctly and clean
  • Maintain Park Avenue Safety and Sanitation Standards
  • Safely transport liquor and all supplies to/from bar to back of house
  • Place all trash in proper receptacles

MARKETING/PROMOTIONS

The marketing and promotions requirements as described below are representative of the minimum requirements of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

  • Must have a Facebook page, Twitter Account, and Instagram which identifies the venue the employee works at (ex: John/Jane Doe at Park Avenue)
  • Must have seven (7) tweets and IG posts per week in relation to the venue
  • Must post updated event information on a weekly basis on Facebook page
  • Must send out three (3) Thank You emails for every shift worked (collect three (3) email addresses per shift)
  • Must send out one (1) email blast per week
  • Must have a ten (10) person guest list on each shift worked
  • Must participate in 1-2 outings per week
  • Focuses on the development of a regular clientele base
  • Adheres to all specifies marketing requirements and guidelines (guest list, reservations, social media, etc)
  • Pose for pictures as requested by management, appear in uniform or designated (logo) apparel for promotional activities at or away from venue. Participate and appear in marketing, publicity or media materials in the capacity as outlines herein.
  • Marketing and promoting venue specific events
  • Interacts and entertains guests in a professional, cordial, and exemplary manner

CASH HANDLING

  • Sign out and verify all bar bank monies
  • Prepare guest checks through POS terminal functions
  • Verify by checking guests identification when using debit or credit cards
  • Process guest payment by cash, credit card, venue comps, and all other appropriate tender types
  • Collect required signatures from guest
  • Ensure accurate accounting of all bar monies and independent banking procedures
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Responsible for proper check out procedures to include, facing all money, organizing and putting all paperwork in order

RESPONSIBILITIES/TEAMWORK/DEPARTMENT

CLEANING/MAINTENANCE

  • Maintain line of sigh/atmosphere control by staying visible and at your assigned work area throughout shift
  • Keep all bar tops, floors, and service areas clean/free of dirty glasses, plates, and any unnecessary items throughtout shift
  • Keep service equipment to include: POS terminal, guns, speed racks and jockey box clean and organized
  • Ensure daily/nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are comleted
  • Ensure that all bar tops and areas are clean and good condition
  • Clean all spills and waste immediately
  • Place all trash in the proper receptacles
  • Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to management immediately
  • Assist all other team members as needed
  • Create and maintain a sense of urgency
  • Appear in uniform for all shifts and promotional activities at scheduled time
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required or equivalent
  • 18+ years of age
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United Stated
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Possession of/or ability to possess a valid TABC certificate
