On Behalf of A.L. Burruss Institute of Public Service and Research at Kennesaw State University , Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Field Interviewers for a research study sponsored by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Positions are available throughout the state of Georgia.

Position Summary

Field Interviewers (FIs) will be responsible contacting selected households from a list of eligible participants, conducting pre-scheduled home visits, and traveling to respondent homes to conduct an in-person assessment and interview. Interviewers will be working with individuals with physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, intellectual impairments, and disabilities due to mental illness. The goal of this study is to test quality measurement tools and demonstrate health information technology.

Training for this position is expected to begin in early September, and the position will last approximately 2-4 months, depending on assignments and workloads. FIs who are willing and able to travel may be given additional work assignments. Qualified FIs must be available to work evening and weekend hours, as needed.

Pay for this position is subject to the services contract act, and hourly rate will be determined based on the county in which work is conducted. The hourly pay rate for Richmond County is $15.35. Field Interviewers will also be compensated $3.81/hour for Health & Welfare benefit.

Job Duties
  • Participate in and successfully complete study training and clear background check.
  • Have the ability and aptitude to understand and consistently apply project guidelines and meet project metrics for field interviewing quality and timelines.
  • Travel to assigned households in all neighborhoods to engage participants, issue informed consent, and conduct computer assisted personal interviews (CAPI).
  • Communicate and survey effectively and efficiently with populations including people with physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, intellectual impairments, and/or disabilities due to mental illness.


Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills, articulate and tactful interactions with staff and respondents.
  • Receptive and open to training and learning on the job.
  • Motivation to complete with self-guided work load and assignments in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
  • Experience working with the populations targeted by this project.


Preferred Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required, experience with field interviewing or social science work preferred.
  • Experience with CAPI Interviewing Preferred
