Company searching for a Healthcare Billing Supervisor to add to our award-winning team. The right candidate will have supervisory experience managing a hands-on team who handles medical records, verification, billing, and documentation. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and billing procedures is a must. You will be the first line of communication with our medical billing representatives for questions and customer issue resolution. Coaching representatives in a positive manner to achieve their individual and department goals will be a priority in this position. We strive for continuous learning to grow individually and as a team. The Healthcare Billing Supervisor will work with the Director of Reimbursement and Billing Manager in all aspects of managing the responsibilities for the department including associate hiring, motivation, coaching, development, discipline, customer satisfaction and achievement of key metrics. Therefore, specific requirements of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise daily tasks of Billing team

  • Review performance data for Billing team and speak to issues/concerns

  • Review performance to metrics

  • Address areas for improvement

  • Annual Performance Reviews

  • Compile and compose review information for employees

  • Conduct employee face to face reviews with Manager

  • Complete HR/payroll for employees

  • Ensure employees meet targeted/expected overtime goals

  • Ensure employees complete make-up time as scheduled

  • Ensure attendance occurrences are handled correctly

  • Schedules

  • Point of contact for employees to call regarding unscheduled absences

  • Enforce HR policies (attendance, dress code, cell phone, etc.)

  • Accurately document employee conversations in a timely manner

  • Create and implement activities to motivate team to meet/exceed metrics

  • New Employee Set-up

  • Work with HR/IT to on-board new employees

  • Work station set-up (computer, phone, supplies, etc.)

  • Audit Employee Performance

  • Work designated Saturday as Manager/Supervisor on duty

  • Consistently display initiative in all aspects of the position, including attendance, service delivery, and volunteering for special projects or assignments

  • Must be able to work overtime with or without advance notice as the demands of the department warrant

  • Successfully juggle the known needs of the position with extra responsibilities as assigned

  • Keep HR and management informed of area activities and significant problems

  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality pertaining to team member and customer situations

  • Take escalated customer calls and ensure situations are resolved in a Win-Win manner

  • The Healthcare Billing Supervisor serves as an example for other department members to strive towards and will uphold the culture of the company including relationship building with customers as well as general behavior on the company premises or at other the company sponsored events.

    Required education, prior experience, specialized skills and knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Demonstrated experience billing Medicaid/Medicare/Insurance

  • Ability to motivate employees to accomplish department and company goals

  • Able to remain calm during stressful situations, including interpersonal conflicts between team members

  • Extensive problem solving capabilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to work independently and within a team with little supervision

  • Attention to details and accuracy along with strong organization skills

  • Cooperative and willing to assist others

  • Able to use computer applications, adding machine, telephone, PC, copier, fax machine and other basic business machines

  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables

  • Experience and comfort level using Microsoft products including Excel and Word
