The Provider Relations Representative is responsible for assisting in the full range of provider relations and service interactions within Optum, including building and maintaining relationships with providers and internal and external customers to provide a high level of customer service. The Provider Relations Representative will assist in and promote the ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements, and training & development of provider education programs. Provider Relations Representatives assist in the design and implementation of programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers. Other responsibilities include supporting the Medical Staff team in provider enrollment and credentialing, as well as provider support as it relates to Continuing Medical Education.



Primary Responsibilities:



  • Apply basic knowledge of practices and procedures

  • Provide services to providers by resolving problems and advising of new protocols, policies, and procedures

  • Perform routine or structured work

  • Respond to routine or standard requests

  • Use existing procedures and facts to solve routine problems or conduct routine analyses

  • Basic, structured, standard approach to work

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of provider relations experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a customer service or provider support role

  • Previous CME administration and tracking experience

  • Ability to work independently and remain on task

  • Good organization and planning skills

  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills including telephone etiquette

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines from multi-staff members within the department and with external customers

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree

  • Provider scheduling and Orientation experience
