General Summary of Duties:
Handle insurance authorizations for outpatient surgeries/radiology procedures by submission of requests via phone/fax/web and contacting insurance companies to obtain authorizations and resolve authorizations denied for clinical reasons
Identify coding or clinical documentation issues and work to verify appropriate place of service
Update the patient account record to identify actions taken on the account
Work with internal and external customers to make sure authorization is in place
Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience Required: • RN license, clinical experience, medical terminology and health insurance authorization guidelines.
Shift/Workdays (M-F):• 8:00a-4:30p
