Optum's Data, Technology and Marketing Analytics team focuses on leveraging existing and future data assets and software products to meet Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Medical Device Manufacturers information needs on market dynamics and competitive activities. Data Assets will include Optum's dNHI database, a comprehensive, de-identified patient longitudinal dataset, as well as Humedica's comprehensive de-identified longitudinal virtual EHR clinical database. Software products include Optum's ClinformaticsTM suite of business intelligence tools and Humedica's NorthStarTM.

Primary job responsibilities include:

- Manage individual project client facing consulting engagements leveraging Optum data and technologies
- Develop and manage internal project specific processes (including analytic methodologies) to effectively execute consulting engagements
- Monitor project engagements to identify efficiencies
- Manage the day to day activities of custom project engagements including the work of cross functional team members
- Provide accurate and timely reports on the status of consulting projects to clients
- Ability to interpret results of data analyses to ensure validity of approach and conclusions and present findings to sales, marketing and market research professionals
- Assist in the development of case studies and business proposals to support business needs
- Conduct therapeutic area specific research to facilitate the enhancement of projects with clients
- Interact with other departments, such as sales, operations and client services, to ensure a high level of client satisfaction through successful execution of projects
- Work closely with methodology experts to support improvements and new product offerings targeted at the sales, marketing and market research community needs

Required:

Bachelors degree required
3-5 years of data analysis experience, to include working with very large data sets
3-5 years of SAS experience
Experience writing SQL queries against relational databases (Teradata, Oracle)
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple projects at once
Minor travel may be required (10-15%)

Preferred:

Experience with basic statistics
Experience in the healthcare industry
Client facing or consulting experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, management science or market research areas
