New Jersey MENTOR is seeking Direct Support Professionals/Caregivers to provide assistance to at-risk youth in accordance with the Service Plan for the purpose of direct care services, behavioral redirection, training, and support to address the functional/daily or community living skills needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, substance abuse issues and/or emotional or behavioral challenges.


Description

DSPs provide assistance with dailyactivities such as meal preparation and planning; medication administration;and personal care. DSPs may also facilitate community involvement byaccompanying individuals on outings in the community or providingtransportation to work or other activities. In addition, DSPs supporttherapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhancethe quality of life for those we support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
  • Must have verifiable experience providing service to children and teens with emotional, medical, and behavioral challenges
  • Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks

Note: All hires will be required to attend a two week orientation: Monday thru Friday Qualifications
