POSITION SUMMARY


As a member of the Financial Applications Business Support team the Senior Analyst, Oracle Reporting Applications Business Support will contribute to the functional and technical support for MI's Oracle Business Intelligence tools (including Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Financial Reports, SmartView and OBIEE Interactive Dashboards). She/he will:
  • Provide recurring and non-recurring application support services;
  • Troubleshoot and help resolve moderate to complex application and process issues impacting the business;
  • Provide report, query, and dashboard design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance and analysis guidance and support; and
  • Support applications upgrades/enhancements.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Execute day-to-day Oracle Business Intelligence tools production support, system maintenance and configuration activities (e.g., report process/data load administration and monitoring; tier 2 or 3 end-user support; hierarchies maintenance; validation of metadata changes in ESSBASE; maintenance of centralized global public report and query inventories).
  • Work collaboratively and directly with the business and IR to understand and translate business needs and develop appropriate solutions. Support report, query, and dashboard development from design to production:
  1. Partner with business to define requirements

  2. Develop and/or approve design documentation

  3. Author and/or support authoring of reports and/or queries

  4. Perform/support system and user acceptance testing
  • Help implement systems enhancements and upgrades.
  • Help develop systems and process documentation, and end-user training and support materials for Oracle Business Intelligence tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE



KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years financial applications management and/or financial accounting management experience.
  • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence tools (including Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Financial Reports, SmartView and OBIEE Interactive Dashboards) required.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft EPM application and Marriott's applications instance preferred.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted finance and accounting policies, principles and controls.
  • General knowledge of Marriott hotel and administrative accounting and reporting processes and systems.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills; ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Operates with a collaborative mindset to ensure that key stakeholders are considered, builds relationships to leverage information and insights; communicates well with stakeholders; openly shares and does not withhold information.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
  • Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience is required.

  • This position will be based at MI Corporate Headquarters.
