Southwest Medical Associates (SMA) is a multi-specialty group of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants consisting of over 200 providers, fourteen clinical locations including nine health care centers, five urgent care clinics and an outpatient surgery center. SMA offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care throughout southern Nevada. SMA is headquartered in the greater Las Vegas, NV area.

In this position you will provide strong leadership to hospital based staff and COC staff. You will have both clinical and  administrative responsibilities.


 



  • Maintain a daily caseload of 20-25 patients and deliver or coordinate all aspects of necessary care.

  • Meet all aspects of job expectations.

  • Maintain strong rapport with hospital, primary care physicians, specialists and ancillary providers in order to effect quality care.

  • Professionally represent SMA and HPN to physician community.

  • Actively participate in Quality Assurance & Utilization Review activities.

  • Develop and present clinical reviews of best practices of common admission diagnoses for department and COC staff.

  • Actively interface with current provider network and identify and recommend opportunities for improvement.

  • Actively participate in departmental committees.

  • Must be BC/BE in Internal Medicine or similar experience as a hospitalist and must have an active unrestricted license.

  • Must maintain active priviledges with no restrictions at hospitals where HPN programs are located.

  • Ability to organize project and maximize time management.

Requirements

Skills:Possess leadership, negotiation, problem solving and team building skills. Computer literacy, strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong clinical skills and expertise.

Knowledge:Working knowledge of managing data. Knowledge of Managed Care Principles and Utilization Management tenets.
