*_Position Summary_* The Seasonal Department Manager will assist in managing all aspects of daily operations within specified department as well as lead department hourly team members. This is a temporary seasonal role designed to provide additional managerial support as well as provide a developmental opportunity to individuals during the busiest time of the year. The candidate ensures timely completion of the departmental workload in an efficient and safe manner, and complies with all relevant standards and guidelines, while demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, associate growth and development, and continuous improvement of processes and performance. This is a temporary role set to begin on or about 9/1/2014, and conclude on or about 1/2/2015. *_ _* *_Key Tasks and Responsibilities:_* _ _ * Supervise, direct, train, and develop team members, including providing frequent and constructive feedback * Communicate departmental/company standards, expectations, goals, changes, and policies to team members * Monitor, maintain, and develop specific, executable strategies to improve product flow, productivity and quality within the department. Analyze workload and adjust staff accordingly to accomplish departmental/building goals * Contribute to and support all company and building programs and initiatives. Work with other managers to achieve overall shift and building goals * Maintain and enhance overall team member relations, engagement, and job satisfaction through effective communication, fair and consistent treatment, respect for the individual, and establishment of clear expectations and accountability. In an effort to improve overall performance, may be required to administer disciplinary action in a fair and impartial manner as necessary * Ensure team member safety through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability, and by promptly addressing potential hazards Qualifications: * Previous Management/Supervisory experience preferred * Previous distribution center experience a plus * Proficient communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical and math skills, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills * AE / Strong Performer / Viewed to have capability and ability to do more for organization * Proven consistent performance in current role * No occurrences of corrective action within last 12 months * Viewed by peer group as leader of others * Strong leadership competency behaviors in Drive for Results, Communication, Working Together, Problem Solving, Adapt and Learn * Established, consistent performance results including dependability * Preferably is able to relocate to other locations for growth opportunities * Strong preference for candidates actively working on a college degree, or already possessing one **Job Function:** Operations Lead (Seasonal) **Primary Location:** CA-Rialto **Schedule:** Full-time **Brand:** Toys 'R' US **Req ID:** 58533
