ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Lead and manage hardware store when store manager is out.
- Run store floor or other specific, significant store area including personnel, facility, merchandise and service.
- Insure standards compliance when manager is out.
- Participate in location merchandise management including buying, pricing and physical merchandise presentation utilizing procedures established by retail administration.
- Lead and participate in regular and special meetings.
- Open and/or close hardware stores as assigned.
- Participate in special project work when advised.
- Maintain and comply with established retail standards.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/REQUIREMENTS:
- Skill to operate computer and other automated office machines.
- Ability to perform mathematic calculations and problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise other employees, understanding of the fundamentals of supervision.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sales approaches, methods, and techniques.
- Occasional lifting up to 80 lbs.
- Occasional climbing and working from ladder.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- 3 years retail experience.
- Background in retail management or merchandising preferred.
