About this job

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Lead and manage hardware store when store manager is out.
  • Run store floor or other specific, significant store area including personnel, facility, merchandise and service.
  • Insure standards compliance when manager is out.
  • Participate in location merchandise management including buying, pricing and physical merchandise presentation utilizing procedures established by retail administration.
  • Lead and participate in regular and special meetings.
  • Open and/or close hardware stores as assigned.
  • Participate in special project work when advised.
  • Maintain and comply with established retail standards.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Skill to operate computer and other automated office machines.
  • Ability to perform mathematic calculations and problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise other employees, understanding of the fundamentals of supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales approaches, methods, and techniques.
  • Occasional lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing and working from ladder.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • 3 years retail experience.
  • Background in retail management or merchandising preferred.
