Position Details: A few weeks to few months of additonal support needed. Position will be 24 hours a week or more to start. Job Title Computer Technician (Help Desk/Tier 2/Desktop Support) Information Technology Location: San Francisco SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining, configuring, installing all hardware and corporate applications and ensuring that they are functioning properly. Responsible for providing helpdesk support to users assisting them with hardware, software and mobile devices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Support Install, test, repair, reimage and update PC-based hardware systems, including printers and mobile devices like iPhones, iPads and blackberrys; Troubleshoot and resolve software application support requests face to face, over the phone or remotely; Respond to support tickets from users in a fast and professional manner; Ensure that all computers are updated with the latest security updates and patches; Place and document orders for new or replacement parts with vendors; Track and update all physical devices and software inventories; Support all peripheral equipment, including mobile devices, printers, laptops, copiers etc;. Assist IT personnel with projects and day-to-day tasks as needed; Drafting and creating self-help documents and logging all support tickets; Assist with audio visual support for audio and video conferencing calls; EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE 2 years or equivalent experience with supporting personal computers in a corporate environment. Experience in working in a client support role. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Up-to-date technical knowledge. Good accurate records keeping. Windows 7 and 8, Apple iOS, Office 2010 -14 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Adobe and other web applications and browser add-ons PHYSICAL DEMANDS The position requires extensive phone and computer work, both software and hardware, for extended periods of time. This position also requires the ability to lift hardware and equipment that weights a minimum of 25-30 pounds; must be able to use small intricate tools for the purpose of computer repair and installation. Position also requires the differentiation of colors, shapes and symbols as needed for working with machinery, computer hardware, and certain software applications. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is generally quiet, but is high profile and at times, very fast paced. The position is located on an upper floor of a high-rise office building. Incumbent may be required to work within any of the floors and/or offices that the company maintains.
