Director, Optum Technology Delivery

• Understanding client mission, vision, strategy and business objectives


• Understanding current state of a client's business and the supporting technology


• Understanding critical success factors (CSFs) for achieving business objectives


• Understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring progress against CSFs


• Establishing approaches for engagements to ensure that they align with business objectives


• Developing roadmaps and financial models for engagements


• Providing leadership and direction for client engagements


• Shaping solutions to ensure that they address core business opportunities and problems


• Applying technology best practices to create predictable outcomes for clients


• Ensuring effective alignment of technology to support business strategies


• Delivering business results through flawless execution


• Cultivating ongoing relationships with executives and other leaders in client organizations


• Coaching and mentoring technology professionals, in order to build and maintain high performance teams


• Ensuring on schedule, on budget, on scope delivery within client quality goals


• Developing (and adhering to) engagement budgets and staffing plans


• Adapting to and remaining effective in a changing environment

Candidates will possess:

• 15+ years of success operating in a leadership role within large, global, matrixed, complex organizations


• Demonstrated leadership ability, including building and driving high performance technology teams of 100 + people


• Strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective


• Broad understanding of technology and how it's used to drive business growth and/or efficiencies 


• Demonstrated ability to apply process, architecture and software engineering principles, methods and tools to business challenges


• Proven experience delivering high quality technology solutions on time and on budget


• Track record of building and maintaining long-term working relationships


• Ability to build the right team, focus people and model/demand integrity


• Inspirational leadership style that promotes innovation and collaboration and fosters commitment to a shared vision


• Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization (this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations) 


• Demonstrated experience managing organizational growth and change


• Results-oriented individual with strong coaching, decision making, influencing, mentoring, negotiation, problem solving and situational analysis skills


• Willingness and ability to travel up to 100% of the time if required


• Experience in the healthcare industry


• Familiarity with PPACA federal legislation and OCIIO/CMS guidance of value


• Knowledge of existing Federal and state-level initiatives for health insurance exchange, and strategies to link these efforts together into a true national network of networks desired


• Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance preferred


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experiences
