UnitedHealth Group is growing!  Our office located in Irvine, California s currently searching for an experienced, technically minded, EHR Technical Application Support Analyst. 


 


Working with minimal supervision, the EHR Technical Application Analyst is responsible for technical implementation of configuration and interface
changes for the electronic practice management and electronic medical records application(s), in addition to general assignments and tasks, as needed. 


The individual configures and supports the from both the application-user and technical perspectives. With direction, the EHR Technical Application Analyst will interact with the E.H.R. Specialists and other associates to support physician offices' staff use of and resolve issues that arise with their use of the software. They are considered experts in the EHR application as it functions for end users, have experience with SDLC and change control, technical expertise to conduct impact assessment of configuration change requests, and applies and tests configuration changes made. Provides application and technical support and recommendations for the applications, in addition to providing triage and troubleshooting assistance. 


 


Primary Responsibilities:




  • Participate as a key member of the core implementation team charged with successfully implementing an EHR system as the subject matter expert in the configuration and functionality of the NextGen electronic practice management and electronic medical records software suite.


  • Work with Implementation Specialists and Account Managers to determine needs regarding business processes and functionality, make recommendations, as appropriate.


  • Conduct impact assessments and analysis to determine risks and ramifications of requested changes and provides recommendations and options.


  • Configure and test the application to validate that the system will perform as intended prior to implementation


  • Work with other support analysts, Implementation Specialists and Account Managers to identify system configuration options and constraints, and help design workflow enhancements within those guidelines.


  • Meet project timelines, deliverables and milestones.


  • Attain and maintain Next Gen Certified Professional for both EPM and EMR modules.


  • Facilitate requirements gathering from non-technical business personnel.


  • Create and maintain various functional and configuration documentation.


  • Prioritize issues and provide appropriate status reports.


  • Provide regular status updates to management, as requested.


  • Resolve issues and maintain documentation supporting resolution.


  • Follow established escalation and notification procedures.

Requirements


  • 2 years experience using Microsoft .NET development technology and n-tier architecture

  • 2 years experience using Microsoft SQL Server database including database design and stored procedures

  • 1 year experience using template and event driven applications

  • 1 year experience supporting an EMR system such as NextGen

  • 1 year experience building Crystal Reports

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated leadership and change management experience.

  • Basic web/html concepts

  • Strong business and technical writing abilities.

  • Effective communication skills, especially verbal communication phone skills, with the ability to interact with various levels of personnel.

 


Assets:



  • Extremely proficient in PC based software programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects and Visio.

  • Product validation/QA.

  • Experience with issue resolution and/or issue tracking software

  • Ability to shift priorities quickly.

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with the healthcare administration industry is required.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision, have exceptional attention to detail and perform consistent work

  • Demonstrate ability to “blindly” troubleshoot and provide client training over the phone, email or internet.
