GUEST SERVICE SPECIALIST

The Guest Services Specialist is the first and last impression of our bowling center, and therefore has the opportunity to set the tone for customers and see them out with a smile. Responsibility includes monitoring the flow of walk-in customers and those with reservations and provides customers with prompt, friendly and efficient service; provides customers with proper sizing of bowling equipment (ball and shoes) while maintaining cleanliness and organizational standards of equipment throughout the facility. Must be committed to providing a friendly, gracious, and compassionate attitude to all customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Immediately welcomes all customers in a friendly manner, providing ultimate service and attention which consistently results in an outstanding experience.
  • Takes names and delivers pagers for waiting list as needed.
  • Obtains all relevant information to expedite the bowling experience, including but not limited to all bowler names, shoe sizes and ball preferences.
  • Builds and increases awareness of all offerings in the center including bowling, food and beverage, and games; presents appropriate suggestions (food & beverage, games, pool tables, etc.) to fill in time for customers on a waiting list which results in minimal idle time and increased revenues for the center; and identifies opportunities to up-sell where appropriate.
  • Assigns bowling lanes to customers following AMF procedures by utilizing lane availability tools including but not limited to PC based scoring and manual tracking systems.
  • Directs customers to equipment room.
  • Determines appropriate equipment (shoes and bowling ball) for customers based on AMF defined procedures and/or criteria.
  • Accurately assigns rental shoes. Upon return, sprays and disinfects rental shoes.
  • May direct customers to lanes, carrying equipment including but not limited to rental shoes, bowling balls and children’s ramps.
  • Inserts bowler names into the scoring monitor and confirms that all lane use necessities are fulfilled.
  • Offers customers drink and food menus and informs customers of name of the Lane Captain who will serve them during their visit.
  • Promptly returns all equipment from the lane areas to the equipment room as customers complete their visits.
  • Assists sales office with overflow of incoming calls during and/or after business hours of the sales office to promptly, accurately, professionally and courteously receive telephone calls/inquiries and directs and/or records and relays messages to appropriate departments or individuals within AMF.
  • Promptly assists and responds to all customer questions or requests by immediately taking ownership of the inquiry and guiding to resolution. Interacts with customers as they leave the facility, thanking them for their business and inviting them back.
  • Proactively ensures that a clean, safe environment is maintained at all times. Follows all company safety and security operating standards; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Readily assists colleagues with miscellaneous duties to prevent delays in the customer service experience.
  • Within 14 days of employment, must become certified in the AMF specified food safety and alcohol service programs.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays, as well as, extended workdays to support business needs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Guest Services Specialists possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals and solid communication and organizational skills. Must be strong team players, have the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time and have excellent telephone etiquette.
