Qualifications:
  • High school graduate and some college preferred.
  • Must have 3 years experience and/or demonstrated competence as a Bookkeeper prior to assuming this position.
  • Keyboarding skills.
  • Valid drivers license. Knowledgeable with RSS.
  • Able to pass background and drug screen.
  • Will be training in grain receiving, contract, inventory and month end grain receivables


Requires physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist and lift/carry 50 pounds. Vision, hearing and speech essential. Hand coordination to use computer. Job requires contact with hazardous materials and work in adverse weather conditions.

Job Description:

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Performs routine office duties under minimum supervisor. May assume full responsibility for local office. Spends a minimum of two-thirds of time in sales or related work.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AN DUTIES:

1. Operates point-of-sale terminal(s) and other data input equipment and assist in making sales to customers.

2. Assists with inventory count, check outs, pricing and completing it for mailing.

3. Keeps salesroom stocked with merchandise including pricing, dating and displaying.

4. Prepares daily reports and periodic reports.

5. Maintains and processes point-of-sale transactions and computer records and reports.

6. Keeps Service Guide, price lists and manuals up-to-date, also counter books and price catalogs.

7. Assists in various phases of credit and collections that may include checking records at courthouse.

8. Prepares bank deposits, which includes night deposits and verifying the deposits at the bank.

9. Types letters, reports and other material from rough draft and prepares copies to be mailed.

10. Answers telephone, handles office callers and takes orders.

11. Places orders with vendors.

12. May supervise other clerical employees and aid in training.

13. Attends schools and meetings.

14. Supervises or maintains filing system.

15. Adheres to Southern States No Tolerance Policy on Safety and Environment

16. For purposes of compliance with Payment Card Industry guidelines (PCI) and the Fair and Accurate Trade Act of 2003 (Red Flag Rules) - responsible for maintaining sensitive employee and customer information relating to sales documents, transactions and credit records, including but not limited to, social security numbers, credit card information and other account data in secured and locked storage at all times.

17. Performs other duties as assigned.
