Manpower is seeking a Technician for our client in Northboro MA Immediate need. The ideal candidate will provide complex, advanced problem solving, routine/non-routine maintenance, set-up, operation and troubleshooting of experimental equipment and instruments, and accurate documentation. Also provides guidance, scheduling and training to new employees, even functioning in lieu of supervision to keep lab/manufacturing running. Responsibilities include reviewing experimental plans for completeness and may be asked to execute plans for multiple, simultaneous tests. Responsibilities include the safe operation of equipment, and maintaining a high standard in methodology using SOPs and standardized methods such as ASTM and ISO. * Ensure that the pilot scale processes are running as defined. * Collect, analyze and report scientific and engineering data obtained from laboratory equipment through an effective plan/coordination and may use data acquisition and equipment to collect process information. Record test and measurement data in accordance with group policy. Able to provide basic interpretation of data related to trouble shooting customer problems and other technical issues. * Maintain laboratories and equipment including set-up, operation and trouble shooting of experimental equipment or instruments. Leads troubleshooting initiatives and machine repair efforts. Perform routine maintenance of equipment and basic troubleshooting. Able to make routine repairs of equipment if necessary. * Maintain documentation regarding current and new methods developed in the lab and ensures quality data collection by all team members. Performs preliminary statistical data analysis and present results. Maintains laboratory notebooks. Work with project leaders to develop new test methods, to improve existing techniques and to update SOPs. Associates degree in an engineering or science related field, 4-year DOL Apprenticeship, or demonstrated equivalent with 10+ years of experience in a laboratory environment. Capability to use personal computer and Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word, is a must. Able to graph and chart data with the use of statistical software (preferred). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess the demonstrated ability to function independently, solve problems, and develop new procedures.
