Front-End Web Developer

Position Summary: This position will be responsible a wide-range of tasks associated with web development. The Web Developer-Designer is responsible for the development and design of major and minor web applications and components for internal and external system users. The Web Developer is responsible for all code and functionality of the websites.

Essential Duties

*Design, develop, test and deliver web sites, applications and components.
*A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures
*Understanding the benefits of SEO and the development skills to support SEO are a plus
*Creation of site layout/user interface from provided design concepts by using standard HTML/CSS practices
*Initiate and work through enhancements and defect resolution will be required on an ongoing basis
*Create web applications and components from the requirements stage, through design, through production deployment
*Responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time and in high quality
*Responsible for compliance and legal requirements are kept up-to-date
*Responsible for the development of web applications and components
*Responsible for the design and development of web pages, graphics, multimedia, GUIs
*Responsible for daily maintenance of existing sites and application
*Utilize best practices and design methods to insure the success of the projects.
*Effectively develops in a clean, well structured, easily maintainable format

Essential Requirements for Education and/or Experience
*BS / BA university degree in computer programming, IS or related field or equivalent experience
*Must have experience in graphics, layout, scripting, programming, as well as development involving compatibility and seamless integration with various technologies
*Some experience using the RUP methodology
*Experience in developing websites and/or web applications
*3 -5 years of web design and development experience is required.
*Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability.
*Front-end and some back-end development experience. More important is the experience of seamless integration of front- to back-end functionality.
*Practical experience in development of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, Perl, graphics creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, (Adobe Creative Suite), multimedia creation with Flash, ActionScript, (Macromedia Studio).
*Practical exposure and/or experience with some or all of the following: WordPress, and other back-end systems, Java Server Pages and Java, XML, PHP, Oracle, MS SQL Server, ColdFusion Server, CFML, CFScript, IIS, Windows Server environments.
*Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments.
