Employees in this function perform various duties related to the administration of the Pharmacy Benefit(s), including assisting in the administration of the Pharmacy Benefits and the preferred drug list by supporting Plan activities related to Member and Provider issues. The Lead Pharmacy Tech will provide technical and analytical support, but will not provide professional advice. Also responsible for research, complaints, grievances, reimbursements, and documentation preparation for case review, evaluation, and/or processing. 

The Lead Pharmacy Tech is responsible for entering Authorizations into the Pharmacy Claims system for Approved Coverage reviews, grievances, and complaints, as well as preparing reports / analysis to support Pharmacy Department operations (i.e., coverage reviews, pharmacy profiles, telephone stats, pharmacy trend reporting, lock-in program, etc). Pharmacists must have a current license without restrictions and Pharmacy Technicians must have current State License or National Certification without restrictions, based on regulatory requirements of the work site. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Extensive work experience, possibly in multiple functions.

  • Coordinate others' activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License.
  • 2+ years of Pharmacy-related experience.
  • Computer skills.
