Aerotek Energy Services is searching for a qualified Project Manager for a solar client in Raleigh, NC. This position does include traveling up and down the east coast leading solar projects.

The Solar Project Manager(PM) is accountable for the overall successful execution of construction projects. This responsibility extends from the preconstruction phase of a construction project and ends with completion and final analysis. Extensive experience in large and small construction of all types is used by the PM to manage timeline, resource and budget expectations to ensure project success. In addition to managing field leadership personnel, the PM is responsible for establishing vendor and subcontractor relationships, scopes and consistently setting expectations for project success by generating and enforcing standards of performance. The PM is responsible for the overall quality of construction while managing safety and field productivity.
Internally, the PM reports to the Director of Operations. Externally, the PM interacts with clients, engineers, subcontractors, field leadership and others who are associated with project execution.

Preconstruction Phase
o Conduct site visits to collect tangible and useful information related to the design and operational execution of solar construction projects
o Review early construction drawings for omissions or inconsistencies
o Manage construction schedule and client expectations for project start and completion
o Manage preconstruction operational expectations for project execution and scope
o Participate in EPC contract review for constructability
o Assess permitting complexity and project cost
o Collect and validate subcontractor scope and pricing
o Identify the financial impact of potential unforeseen operational scenarios
o Create project Schedule of Values per AIA formats and standards


Construction Phase
o Facilitate completion of final construction drawings through internal and client plan review process
o Ensure construction process follows project design and specifications
o Manage project subcontractors:
-Establish subcontract scope of work and pricing
-Manage quality control and performance expectations
-Manage minimum qualifications for work such as performance history, bonding, insurance and permitting compliance
o Generate construction submittals
o Manage all required permitting
o Arrange for initial project logistical requirements such as lodging, equipment rental, local suppliers, etc.
o Generate site specific documentation including worker safety and training plans
o Conduct regular client meetings for project status update and issue resolution
o Enforce the PowerSecure Health and Safety procedures and culture. Lead by example
o Review and approval of all field employee time on a weekly basis
o Manage project schedule and timelines with field leadership personnel, subcontractors and owners
Initiate milestone invoices to customers through coordination with support team and shared service center
o Manage final approval of vendor and subcontractor invoice
o Manage the PowerSecure Solar Quality Control Program:
-Establish the culture of uncompromising Quality with field staff
-Monitor the planning and execution of non-compliant installation repairs
-Identify proactive solutions to potential QC scenarios
o Coordinate with Design team to manage project needs and alterations during construction. Seek and receive approval on field design changes
o Maintain clear visibility to profitability of project at all times. Ensure financial accuracy of project workbook and report project financial status to Director and GM .
o Project closeout:
-Manage closeout documentation for owner
-Manage owner training
-Conduct project closeout meeting to scrutinize financial and operational performance

This position does pay per diem, mileage, lodging and use of a company vehicle while on the road traveling to work sites.
