The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to performing activities necessary to support the receipt, replenishment and general handling of goods and materials while maintaining inventory accuracy within the Coopervision Distribution Center. Close supervision required.
I. Performs receipt process activities of both finished goods and silver stock lenses and consumables/packaging materials.
II. Participates in cycle counts of finished goods, silver stock and consumables/packaging materials as necessary.
III. Performs activities in support of finished goods picking location replenishment to ensure product availability.
IV. Performs activities in support of the put-away of received finished goods, silver stock lenses and consumables/packaging materials.
V. Organizes/Maintains picking locations to ensure proper FIFO requirements.
VI. Performs materials handling activities to include but not limited to the delivery of various goods and materials to ensure inter-departmental request/needs are fulfilled as necessary.
VII. Receives and delivers incoming U.S. mail as well as packages from various shippers etc. throughout the DC.
VIII. Loads/unloads trailers or containers as necessary.
Maintains and supports organization of the inbound dock area as well as storage racking area.

PICKING:
Responsible for 3 of the following areas: Picking (carousel, automatic dispense machine (ADM), pick to light (PTL), voice picking, list picking via RF scanners), Packing (small order, multi tote, advanced shipment notice (ASN)), Problem resolve and Carrier Sorter. With time in position employee must demonstrate proficiency in these areas. Works under close supervision
GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Works scheduled holidays in order to maintain service levels for customers.
2. As business needs dictates, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory Saturdays.
3. Works scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times, notifies Supervisor prior to absence or tardiness in accordance with company policy.
4. Immediately informs Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager of safety, sanitation, and equipment malfunctions and concerns regarding quality issues.
5. Exhibits good communication skills ? verbal, written, and comprehension of the English language.
6. Adhered to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.


Candidates at the Scottsville Manufacturing facility will be required to work at various stations/areas of numerous contact lense lines (for example: PCMFT which is Pro Clear Multi Focal Toric lenses). Candidates should possess experience working with small parts; including small tools and measuring equripment. Solid math skills, manual dexterity and ability to follow directions and pay close attention to small details (consistently verifying order and RX numbers with what is on the labels, etc)
Within established guidelines, will be trained to become proficient in all standard production operations in a production line, such as: lot preparation, axis marking, lathe cutting, tool making, lens polishing, inspection, laser marking, lens release, center thickness measurement, lens power measurements and lens edge polishing. (90%)

A. May utilize simple production and measurement instruments. Regularly checks own work for desired results.
B. Report problems encountered in operations to a lead person or Supervisor, as directed.
C. Perform simple equipment adjustments in own operation.

Wet Inspection: (Only applies if working in Wet Operation)
A. Following established procedures, hydrates, extracts, tints, inspects, packages lenses.
B. Inspects lenses using various inspection devices.
Wet Support: (Only applies if working in Wet Operation)
A. Provides clean packaged materials used for lens packaging.
B. Prepares dyes and solutions used for lens processing.

Made to Order: (Only applies if working in MTO)
A. Due to nature of MTO, more intricate and detailed involvement than Made to Stock product.

II. May be asked to support other department activities. (10%)

A. May occasionally provide assistance in training New employees in the mechanics or procedures in certain operations.
B. Perform various other non-technical or easily understood duties as assigned.
