UnitedHealthcare is seeking a dynamic leader to be the Medicare Appeals Manager in our Oldsmar, FL location; Trumbull, CT location; or remotely working from home if outside these locations.  This person will be responsible for multiple operational areas including member & non-par provider appeals, non-par provider disputes, par appeals, and rework adjustments. 



 



Primary Responsibilities:




  • Drive and reinforce the leadership cornerstones of redefining quality, aligning accountability and enabling people

  • Provide on-site leadership over assigned functions, staff, projects and daily operations

  • Provide leadership to and be accountable for the performance and results of Supervisors and staff

  • Define, develop the tools needed to measure progress and ensure consistent achievement of business objectives

  • Provide expertise to teams in reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating, processing and adjusting claims

  • Consistently demonstrates ability to succeed in a continuously changing and challenging environment

  • Develop innovative operational solutions and implement successfully to deliver results

  • Develop a climate for superior customer service experience

  • Lead initiatives and drive change throughout organization

  • Analyze and identify trends and provide reports as necessary

  • Communicate and collaborate within matrix environment

  • Minimal travel required

 


This position will work in Oldsmar, FL or Trumbull, CT office

Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • 5+ years of operations management experience (within claims operations preferred)

  • Healthcare industry experience 

  • Proven experience in driving initiatives and change for improved culture and operations

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to coach, mentor and foster a culture of continuous learning, empower and motivate others

  • Strong independent decision making, influencing, and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration with variety of levels in a matrix organization


Preferred Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree
