REM Wisconsin, in partnership with The Mentor Network is currently seeking full-time and part-time Caregivers/Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide assistance to children with disabilities in Eau Claire, WI. Description

As we learn and grow we all need the help and support of others. It takes a very special person to support individuals with disabilities. As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional with REM Wisconsin, Inc. you'll be one of those special people.

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide assistance with daily activities such as: meal preparation and planning; medication administration; and personal care. DSPs may also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work or other activities. In addition, DSPs support therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Car registration and vehicle insurance (if providing transportation for individuals receiving services)
  • Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
  • Six months of experience in human services preferred, but not required

To work with children in our program you must be at least 21 years of age and meet one of the following criteria in addition to the requirements above:

  • Be enrolled in (or graduated from) an accredited university or technical college in a related field
  • Have a CNA License
  • Have at least 1 year previous experience working with children with special needs
  • Be a licensed child care provider
