Job Overview:

The HR Generalist assists in the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: staffing, departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations
  • Process new hire paperwork
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels
  • Coordinate drug testing and background screens
  • Assist in the coordination of business meetings and company functions
  • Maintain employee personnel files in accordance with company standard
  • Contribute to positive employee relations by participating in various activities
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and functions
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of employment law and labor relations strategies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of PC programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Intranet and Internet

Experience:

  • 1-2 year's human resources experience
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Operations or distribution experience a plus
  • Ability to make good decisions and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work with multiple business partners at all levels.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Coordination of people and resources
  • Team player attitude
