AVP, Loan and Credit Operations

Our client a rapidly growing financial services firm is seeking an individual for a AVP, Loan and Credit Operations opportunity.  This person will be responsible for assisting with the daily funding process, daily loan and collateral analysis, as well as, providing broader analytical support to our client as needed. Analysis may include but is not limited to, analyzing prospective borrower’s financial information, borrowing requests and assisting with the oversight of collateral, and other related analysis as needed.

This area of the business maintains responsibility for daily loan accounting (reconciliation) and compliance with the approved Policies and Procedures and the approved Credit Criteria and Guidelines for the group.

Responsibilities

The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities.  Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Assist with the updates related to loan administration and the system, including assistance with the daily oversight and integrity of borrowing base certificates, cash in and cash out and related treasury functions. Interface with the VP, Controller and or SVP, Chief Financial Officer related to accounting for the general ledger as applicable.
  • Responsible for weekly review of designated portion of the portfolio Borrowers’ updated borrowing base collateral and related backup to ensure compliance and conformity of all within the portfolio.  Includes accurate input into the Stucky Loan Administration System.
  • Support TEAM members in preparing, reconciling and posting daily and/or weekly settlements with respective capital partners and participants.
  • Review and analyze various data to monitor loans; including company prepared borrowing base certificates, financial statements, field exams, collateral appraisals, collateral reporting, mapping and all other relevant data.
  • Assist with management of Collateral Services, Inc. third party process, analysis and reporting including analyzing, updating and publishing results to the TEAM.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining the internal monitoring and management reports used by SCP; including the Daily Activity Report, weekly sales and collateral trend analysis, weekly cash collections and monthly capacity analysis.
  • Assist with review of documentation related to new closings, including review of Loan Agreements and ancillary documents to ensure the terms and definitions related to Loan and Credit Operations are consistent with the Discussion Letter and Credit Approval Memo.
  • Participate in Takeover Audit visits/meetings including supporting the TEAM in preparing and completing the Borrowing Base Memo.
  • Assist with the review of the initial borrowing base and all supporting documentation reporting any discrepancies or concerns to the TEAM and subsequently working with the Underwriter and the Borrower to resolve any such issues in preparation for closing the transaction.
  • Provide analytical support to the underwriting department and the credit department, as needed including but not limited to, analyzing prospective borrower’s financial information and assisting with the credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring processes.
  • Special projects from time to time to ensure best in class credit, risk and monitoring procedures.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of operating standards for the group.

Competencies, Traits and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent experience in banking or finance.
  • Exceptional strong organizational skills with ability to multi task and prioritize deadlines in a fast paced ever-changing environment.
  • Strong written/verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Advanced technical and data manipulation skills including experience with databases and datasets for extraction and conversion into useful business information.
  • Minimal local travel required
