Position Summary

Cox is currently expanding an enterprise software offering known as Remarketing Management System (RMS) that is based out of the UK. RMS is targeted at auto OEM captive finance companies and rental car companies that are looking to optimize the management and remarketing of their vehicle fleets. While RMS will leverage the Cox’s automotive assets, it will be a 3-4 step adjacency from Cox’s existing businesses and will require the development of significant new capabilities including, but not limited to, software development and commercialization.

The RMS infrastructure engineer will be responsible for taking a lead role on the RMS infrastructure team. In this role, s/he will have responsibilities for elements of RMS as they relate to building out cloud infrastructure, delivering software releases to production, and managing day-to-day operations of production software/hardware installations. The successful candidate will accomplish all of this while working with individuals across Cox’s IT functions to ensure a unified approach to cloud operations.

Major Responsibilities

· Manage and support company systems and infrastructure of company data centers and offices

· Take ownership of infrastructure projects from design to delivery

  • Assist in the design and build process of the RMS Desktop, Development and Server environments
  • Support duties relating to the maintenance of all infrastructure issues
  • Maintain and handle IT security related incidents and issues
  • Where applicable be responsible for producing and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  • Mentor new members to the Infrastructure team and promote the use of industry best practices
  • Drive to new levels of the infrastructure architecture and best practices by providing innovate ideas based experiences of performing the role
  • Maintain & upgrade industry accreditation when the opportunity arises
  • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed

· Provide support for infrastructure framework by responding to escalated issues, troubleshooting errors and developing technical solutions

· Determine causes of errors and what steps need to be taken to resolve errors

Qualifications

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Experience managing web application hosting environments is required.

- Experience with enterprise Windows servers & Networking engineering.

- Experience with fundamentals of cloud technology

§ Proficient in the use and maintenance of all versions of MS Windows XP/7/8/8.1, MS Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, 2012 R2 to a proficient level

§ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Best Practice and Security Analysers

§ Proficient in virtual server technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V)

§ Proficient in configuration and maintenance of cloud hosting environments

§ Proficient with LAN and WAN networking technologies

§ Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers and VPN

§ Provide Infrastructure services in all following additional areas: storage networking, network security, directory services, backup and restore, system and network monitoring via SNMP

§ Experience with BCP and DRP practices

§ Familiar with ISO27001/2

§ Extensive experience managing web application environments

§ Proficient with operation and maintenance of mobile devices: all flavours of tablets, smart phones

§ Proficient in the configuration and maintenance of MS SQL (2005 – 2012), IIS8/8.5

§ Being able to write and read SQL queries

§ Ability to read C# ASP.NET, HTML and XML Schema’s

§ Ability to effectively communicate technical information to internal and external customers

§ Experience with cloud based infrastructure platforms (ideally Microsoft Azure)

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent job demonstrated work experience preferred

· 5-7 years relevant job experience

· Microsoft Certifications desired

· Certification or equivalent industry certifications highly desired
