Seeking a Logistics Coordinator

This position is responsible for driving the daily needs of the Logistics Department focusing on providing world class customer service through 100% delivery with 100% order accuracy. This position is responsible for taking an active role in resolving customer issues, handling complex orders as needed and backing up the team on daily work load distribution.



Shall be responsible for coordinating all shipments for the North Aurora facility and orders at any other locations which are managed by the North Aurora facility. Coordination of shipments includes, but is not limited to, reviewing order status with operations to meet scheduled completion dates, verify resolution of credit issues with the credit manager, coordinate all shipping documentation to facilitate customer receipt of goods and receipt of payment, ownership of specific instructions to shipping for all documentation, including but not limited to packing lists, cargo marks.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review all orders presented for system holds, missing information, consolidation requirements, completeness and accuracy; document the issue and coordinate resolution
  • Update records in an Access database
  • Maintain pieces, weight and descriptions in ERP system
  • Route shipments based on cost and service requirements
  • Prepare Bills of Lading, Shipping Labels, Shipping Marks
  • Process express and surface shipments using carrier on-line manifest systems
  • Book pick ups with carriers
  • Maintain drop trailer load volume spreadsheets
  • Close sales orders in ERP system and carrier manifest systems
  • Trace, reconsign, and expedite shipments
  • Obtain rate quotes
  • Be primary contact with Customer Service’
  • Answer shipment and sales order inquiries
  • Prepare export Commercial Invoice and related documents
  • Primary responsibility is domestic and export to Canada; must maintain cross-training in international shipment processing .




POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Must possess knowledge of domestic transportation documentation and a sound understanding of carrier operations. Must posses knowledge of transportation rate and pricing structures. Must possess understanding of domestic and international sales terms. Experience with parcel manifest systems is desirable. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally, written and through the use of e-mail. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work needs in a fast paced environment. Must be able to analyze data and use good judgment to make business decisions in a timely manner.


Must be proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel). Experience working with an ERP system, JD Edwards preferred
