JOB TITLE: IT Tech I
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Provide technical assistance to computer users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer questions or resolve computer problems for employees in person, or via telephone or electronically.
- May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
- Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
- Help make users productive.
- Offer guidance and help users solve common IT problems.
- Know when to redirect problems that require an onsite solution.
- Use remote control tools to control a user’s machine to troubleshoot problems.
- Resolve technical problems, detect patterns of issues, and coordinate with staff regarding persistent problems.
- Assist other Technical Support Specialists in troubleshooting difficult or time-sensitive problems.
- Maintain your knowledge and expertise by learning new and evolving technologies and by achieving appropriate industry and professional certifications.
- Follow ISO and all other applicable procedures and company policies.
- All other work assigned by supervisor/manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-4 years’ relevant experience.
- Basic network knowledge setting up users, configuring printers, establishing server connections and loading network software
- 2 years of experience in providing hardware and software installation, configuration, upgrades and end-user support
- Proven customer service and problem solving skills, providing remote support services.
- Extensive desktop and network knowledge is desired
- Association experience
- Ability to independently manage production requirements and operational goals
- Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot technical problems
- Strong collaborative communication and interpersonal skills, including confidentiality and independent judgment
- Detail oriented, with flexibility to respond to unexpected demands
- Computer proficiency in Word; database systems including Access and Excel; Power Point
- Ability to interface with staff and external relationships in a professional manner
- Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills.
