As a Manager IT Quality, you would work as a part of a dynamic team involved with Quality Management for software, web, portal, application, and other testing for new systems and/or enhancements. You would be working on a health care reform program, helping to ensure quality deliverables and reporting on the status of testing throughout the project lifecycle.  Positions in this function are involved in developing and implementing efficient and effective test plans for new systems problems and/or enhancements. Includes understanding of QA methodology, processes and associated automated testing tools.

 

Responsibilities:


  • Must be able to accomodate 75%-100% travel for this role.

  • Resources performing this function in the Quality Management Office (QMO) are responsible for establishing and supporting quality standards throughout the project lifecycle

  • Coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily activities of business support, technical or production team or unit.

  • Impact of work is most often at the team level.

  • Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project.

  • Assume accountability for overall quality of programs, including reviewing processes and deliverables within all phases of the program to ensure the right people, processes, tools and end deliverables are in place.

  • Manage staff and resources for projects.

  • Ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise.

  • Direct cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams.

  • Mitigate risks and address project obstacles as needed.

  • Provide Test Management Leadership and serve as single point of contact for test activities across large cross application efforts, with an emphasis on System, Integration and UAT testing.

  • Ensure that quality processes are carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Actively participate in walk-through, inspection, review and user group meetings for quality assurance.

  • Communicate and interact with appropriate areas on problems, changes and enhancements that may impact data, workflow and /or functionality within Information Technology software.

  • Comply with standards of the software development life cycle and follow strategies, plans and procedures within Information Technology software.

  • Comply with standards and strategies of the software development life cycle.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance/Testing experience

  • 5+ years in Project Management and/or Quality Management

  • 3+ years of staff management experience

  • Understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Test Management tools (HP ALM/Quality Center)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Assets:


  • Healthcare Industry experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • MS Project experience

  • PMP certification

This role requires an understanding of QA Methodology, Integrated Quality Solutions and Support ( IQSS) service offerings and processes as well as knowledge of general Project Management principles.
