Summary



Under the supervision of the Showroom Manager, the Service Coordinator performs general storage and material handling duties related to the warehouse. The service coordinator will also provide day to day administrative support for the showroom. This position is crucial in maintaining smooth operation control allowing the Sales Team to concentrate on sales, members and prospects.



This includes loading and unloading vehicles and trucks, handling of materials within warehouse and to/from loading area, verifying materials shipped against picking tickets, maintaining warehouse and showroom cleanliness including restrooms, maintaining displays and sample placement including price tags, assist with answering phones and maintaining miscellaneous supply levels.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Receiving



• Meet drivers at loading dock and assure that they login their deliveries.

• Check deliveries to make sure they are in good shape and as noted on shipping manifest.


Inspect merchandise for defects and breakage.


• Receive merchandise delivered into warehouse on computer system.

• Store merchandise in warehouse and record location of storage.



Vendor Returns and Other Shipping



• Pull merchandise from warehouse or showroom floor.

• Recognize differences in product vendor names, material identifications, and styles

• Wrap and label merchandise for shipping.

• Load merchandise on trucks.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities (cont'd.)



• Determine appropriate means of packaging materials

• Operate forklift to move merchandise to be picked up to convenient staging location.

• Operate forklift to place or remove merchandise from storage racks.

• Maintain inventory in racking system.

• Maintain warehouse and showroom order and cleanliness.

• Insure samples are labeled and displayed properly on showroom floor immediately upon arrival.



Computer System Updates



• With Showroom Manager, review warehouse and inventory management policies.

• Enter and update warehouse and inventory records.



Product and Operations Responsibility



• Place orders with vendors/mills for merchandise and samples.

• Follow Shipments and notify account managers when received.

• Route Purchase orders and packing slips to accounts payable.


Place calls to Members to notify them that ordered merchandise has been received and is available for pickup and notify account manager that the member has been notified.

Answer and screen telephone calls. Direct calls to proper person




Showroom Responsibility




Review procedures for updating showroom prices and coordinating online records

With the Showroom Manager, identify timing and amount for pricing changes.

Update prices in the system and on the showroom floor as directed by the Showroom Manager.

Clean the showroom weekly, clean and check the bathrooms daily.


Maintain a level of basic knowledge about flooring products.


Review with Showroom Manager flooring product lines offered by manufactures.
