POSITION PURPOSE - The Asset Protection Specialist (APS) is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

The APS will utilize tools to minimize Company loss, including but not limited to:
•Identifying incidents of theft and fraud (external and internal)
•Reviewing CCTV and exception reports
•Monitoring the store's physical security
•Auditing the EAS
•Driving a 'shrink elimination' culture in the store

NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Store Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
•Be 18+ years old
•Pass a drug test
•Pass a Background Check

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas
 and/or GED.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 1

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Formal Loss Prevention training program after high school. One year experience as a Retail Loss Prevention Investigator preferred. Competent in the use of retail CCTV systems.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
•Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
•Be able to work a flexible full-time schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays
•Have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work independently and with minimal supervision
•Relationship building skills. Knowledge of loss prevention techniques.
•Ability to analyze Loss Prevention reports and recognize trends.
