The Marketing Technology Specialist supports the activities and objectives of the Technology Marketing group. He/she helps develop and maintain different public-facing websites and prepares core department work products. This position assists with ad hoc requests and projects to support department and business objectives. The Marketing Technology Specialist also monitors and evaluates competitive information sources and research to support competitive analysis.

The Marketing Technology Specialist will be responsible for supporting different marketing tools and platforms that require underlying technology (e.g., websites, email marketing, marketing automation, etc.) He/she will work closely with internal stakeholders and third-parties (e.g., vendors, agencies, etc.) in product/program management activities. 

Other Duties

  • Designs, develops, and programs website pages and assets (e.g., product and service information, daily news, company information, etc.) to ensure information is readily accessible and consistent in format.
  • Manages content and visual components for variety of marketing platforms to provide accurate and timely information.
  • Maintains data integrity on website locations to ensure data is consistent, certified, and reconcilable.
  • Investigates, evaluates, and recommends additional functionality and add-ons to enhance user experience.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors and internal systems resources to ensure smooth operations of the websites.
  • Assists with the assembly of resultant intelligence to create presentable packets of information.
  • Researches competitors’ technologies to identify capabilities, significant changes, and trends.
  • Collaborates with supervisors to analyze research findings, create comparisons with UPS offerings, and develop a summary of the company’s position relative to competitors.
  • Supports management of project plans, budgets, schedules, business and technical documentation, communications, training, etc.

  • Conducts Environmental Scanning: Maintains basic awareness of potential regulations that could impact product or segment; monitors emerging technologies and potential impact on the ways transportation and logistics companies serve customers.
  • Develops Situational Assessments: Demonstrates familiarity with the UPS market planning process; assembles and interprets components of the situational assessment; describes the primary experience levers that customers value within area of responsibility; accurately defines the various lifecycle stages of a UPS customer or prospect (e.g., conversion, penetration, retention, win-back) and company strategies targeted to each stage.
  • Technology Knowledge: Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates basic technological concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work.

Minimum Qualifiers  

  • Bachelor’s degree or three years of UPS experience – Preferred
