Description

This position maintains and monitors the accounts receivable function by accurately and timely processing incoming vendor/customer payments.

Job Responsibilities:

· Receive various forms of payments (i.e., miscellaneous AR payments, collections, institutional billings, etc.), prepare them for deposit and post in computer.

· Create and maintain billing file for fees owed by dealer (i.e., registration, market report, shortages, etc.). Receive and post payments and/or contact dealer for non-payment of outstanding fees and/or miscellaneous AR.

· Audit and maintain files for Institutional Account billings, receive and post payments, and contact accounts for reconciliation of payments received and/or nonpayment.

· Generate, maintain and update reports necessary for the AR function (i.e., Held Item report detailing all outstanding unpaid vehicles, etc.)

· Secure deposits until transported to bank.

· Enter and record appropriate forms and dealer license information for cash window into appropriate journals.

· Process sale day transactions, prepare sale day deposits and balance deposits with sale settlement sheet.

· Investigate overage/shortage or non-payment on sale day vehicle deposits and hold vehicle title for payment.

· Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

1 to 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred, as well as knowledge of basic accounting procedures and equipment.

Competencies/Skills:

Effective communication skills required. Must possess good problem-solving and organizational skills. Experience with adding machines and other office equipment (copier, fax machine, etc.). Good computer software skills necessary.

Physical Demands:

Mainly sedentary. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks, manual dexterity. Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.
