This position will support M&V (Military and Veterans) by performing extensive chart reviews, coding hospital stays to DRG (diagnosis related group), tracking and reporting results and the recovery of overpayments.
We are looking for 1 Inpatient DRG coder with inpatient DRG coding experience to join our Clinical Claim Review team! You will be responsible for providing coding expertise in any of the following areas:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviews pre and post service claims for clinical eligibility for coverage as prescribed by the Plan benefits.
- Review and interpret Plan language.
- Utilizes clinical guidelines and criteria.
- Responsible for accurately documenting determinations.
- Adherence to all confidentiality regulations and agreements.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- CPC or AHIMA certified.
- 1+ year of inpatient coding/DRG (diagnosis related group) experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team.
- Strong computer skills including to be able to type and navigate around a Windows based environment with a high level of accuracy with heavy data entry.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 NAC form SF86.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Inpatient & Outpatient experience in Hospital Coding.
- Previous Military experience.
- Clinical Claims Review experience.
