Primary
Responsibilities:



  • Understand
    the UnitedHealth Group financial process and become an active participant
    in the management of its financials. 
  • Analyze
    and report on financials and partner with senior leaders to
    collaboratively manage budgets. 
  • Assist
    with periodic forecast and budget creation for business leadership.
  • Forecast
    staffing needs and partner with project managers, subject matter experts
    and leadership to develop workforce tools -experience with Activity-Based
    costing a plus.
  • Collaborate
    with segment finance to understand and demonstrate complex concepts in
    ways that lead to understanding by a variety of audiences.
  • Conduct
    cost-benefit analysis, calculate cost impact, summarize and present to a
    larger audience. 
  • Candidate
    will support 10+ Health Plans
  • Candidate
    should have excellent communication skills
  • Adhoc
    analytics and reporting as needed.

Requirements

Required
Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's
    degree in Accounting or Finance (Finance is preferred)

  • 4+
    years of financial management experience

  • Strong
    current proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Formulas, pivot tables, basic
    macros)

  • Exceptional
    financial acumen and P&L management skills and experience; ready to provide
    examples during an interview

  • Proven
    experience driving business performance in a high growth environment

  • Experience
    anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational
    issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing appropriate
    action plan 

  • Experience
    working collaboratively with others in a matrix environment to drive
    revenue enhancement and expense management initiatives.  



Preferred
Qualifications:



  • Hyperion
    Essbase experience is preferred

  • PeopleSoft
    GL experience is a plus

  • Microsoft
    Excel VBA experience is preferred
