The Line Operator operates machines and other equipment in the production area on a continual basis. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on required machines to ensure efficient operations out output. Some of the machines are as follows: un-scrambler, filler, case former, case sealer, Hartness case packer, and palletizer/stretch wrapper.
Job Requirements
Job Functions:
- Perform machine set-up and changeovers functions
- Perform line performance troubleshooting and maintenance to include replacement of machine components
- Perform line preventive maintenance, including adjustment, alignment and lubrication of machinery
- Perform product quality tests, which may include but not be limited to, pH, viscosity, product inspection, weight control, cap torque and finished product inspection
- Operate a computer, entering production information into the manufacturing system, using e-mail, etc.
- Set up and operate check weigher, bottle coder, case coder and/or inkjet coder
- Hand stacks cases of finished goods onto pallets
- Maintain work area clean and organized
- Utilizes SAP sheets to ensure accuracy
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational/time management skills would be a plus
- Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work for long periods of time under pressure in order to produce results
- Capable of making decisions and illustrate ambiguity
- Basic mechanical aptitude
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and minimum one year (1) of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
